Active Students

The Active Students project is funded by the University of Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire Sports Village.  The programme is designed for students of all abilities to encourage them to engage in a variety of sport and physical activities and its absolutely FREE!  We host a range of activities including yoga, roller-skating, football and loads more – see our timetable for our whole range of activities. We have a team of friendly students (Activators) who you will find at each session  to help and answer any questions you may have.

How do I get involved?

There is no need to book just pick a session and turn up- no sign up, no commitment, no cost!

What do I need to bring?

All you need is your student ID card! All equipment is provided just wear some comfy shoes and maybe bring a water bottle.

Where is Active Students located?

The activities we run will take place across both campuses at several locations, but we will always tell you where it is on our timetable! The office is based on de Havilland Campus at Hertfordshire Sports Village in the Athletic Union Office, so please come and visit us if you have any questions- this is also where you can collect your free t-shirt and hoodie after completing your loyalty card.

Active Students started in 2011 and was funded for 6 years by Sport England. In this time, Active Students has attracted over 10,000 students in to sport and activities.

Now the programme is funded by the University of Hertfordshire and we aim to continue to grow sport and activity across both campuses.
