Pilates @ Oval Flexible Space

Slow controlled flowing movements, primarily to strenghten the ‘core’ muscles that stabilize and support the spine. It brings the mind and body together, focusing on breathing and balance, whilst realigning the body and correcting postural problems.

Zumba @ Oval Flexible Space

Zumba is a Latin dance-inspired fitness session designed to provide a dynamic workout which is fun and easy to do!

The routines feature fast and slow rhythms and resistance training combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavours and international zest into the mix and you’ve got Zumba.

It’s an effective, aerobic workout and more than that it is FUN and that is why we know you will be back!

Basketball @ Sports Hall 2

Basketball sessions are Activator led. There’s plenty of opportunity for you to play small-sided games, full games, shooting games and competitions. Come down with friends or by yourself and we’ll get you involved.

Dodgeball @ Sports Hall 3

If you’ve seen the film ‘Dodgeball’ you will be familiar with the 5 Ds – dodge, dive, duck, dip and dodge.  Our Dodgeball sessions are a great way to be active and have a laugh at the same time. You will be taught the basics of dodgeball, learn the skills needed and then you will be let loose on the court! A perfect way to relieve stress and keep fit!

Tennis @ MUGA, The Oval

Turn up and join in our fun, relaxed and social tennis sessions. All equipment will be provided.

Goals 4 Girls – Female Only Football @ Oval 3G
Nov 23 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Join us for some beginner level women’s only football sessions.  We’ll look at basic skills and small sided games – all based around having fun and developing fitness at the same time.

Tai Chi @ Oval Flexible Space

Tai Chi is new to Active Students this year and it is a chinese exercise system that uses slow, smooth body movements to achieve a state of relaxation for the body and mind, perfect for after a long day of lectures to unwind and relax.

Students are taught the art through philosophy and a series of exercises in order to learn to recognize and discipline the inner energy flow (Chi). Developing this art benefits the whole nervous and intrinsic systems and brings total control, harmony and awareness to the mind and body.

No prior experience is needed as everyone is new to this sessions so just bring along your student ID card and give it a go.

 

Touch Rugby @ Oval 3G

Touch Rugby is a non-contact sport which played by people of all levels and abilities. This session is perfect for first time beginners who have never picked up a rugby ball before right through to the biggest rugby enthusiast around. This session is sure to be a fun one, just remember your ID card.

Join Active Students for the most popular indoor sport- table tennis. Just bring your student ID along and join in the fun! All equipment is provided.

Squash @ Squash Courts
Nov 24 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Never played squash before? Played a little at school and want to give it another go? This session is perfect for you, in a relaxed friendly environment you can give squash a try and find out why squash is such a great game.

All you need to do is bring along your student ID card to the session, all equipment will be provided.
